Clouds will hang over Southern California for the next couple of days, with rain predicted for the weekend that could dampen New Year's Eve celebrations. For those planning to watch Monday's Rose Parade in bleachers or curbside in Pasadena, or the Rose Bowl game afterward, it would be smart to pack an umbrella — just in case. Monday should start out dry, but there is a 30 percent to a 40 percent chance of rain that day, said Kristen Stewart, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. Leading up to the big day, for the next several days, highs in Los Angeles County will be in the low 60s with temperatures dipping overnight to the mid- to upper-40s in some places, meteorologists said.
